Operations began in 1989 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Founded by partners Errol Olson and Jeff Hunter, Federal Looseleaf always catered to the exacting demands of the advertising agency and graphic design communities. As private industry began to demand the same type of choice for their presentations, Federal Looseleaf expanded their brand of custom products to all.

As the business grew and became national in appeal, Federal sharpened its creative niche'. Researching and experimenting with new and unusual substrates and cover materials with which to produce presentation products along with a continuing effort to improve production techniques has allowed Federal to deliver real creative solutions with real market value to its many fine customers.

These efforts have come together to make Federal Looseleaf one of the very few custom manufacturers in the industry willing to make as few as a handful of product, yet capable of producing many thousands more.
